Welcome to Cambodian Handicrafts Churan ! I'm the owner of this shop, Naoko Kodate.
This is an on-line shop for Cambodian handicrafts and textiles.
When I took a trip to Cambodia, I fell in love with the charming and colorful Cambodian handicrafts.
What's your image of Cambodia; Angkor Vat ? land mines ? the Khmer Rouge ??
They are a part of Cambodia although when you visit there, you could see many other things like the deep green of the tropical rain forest, hanging hammocks that are used for avoidig the strong mid-day sun,
people's smiles... and authentic handicrafts and food.
As you know, there are so many people in Cambodia who suffer from poverty, and preventable diseases like polio and still others who have been disabled by landmines. As a way to make a living with these hardships, there are many groups that produce handicrafts. Helping to support these groups and increasing awareness about them are two of the reasons I started this web site. When I started this shop, so many groups supported me patiently despite getting only small orders .
I appreciate these groups for all their support. and I'd like to inform my customers as to who made the crafts on my website and how each product was made.
